Battery-powered strapping tools for plastic strapping

Battery-powered strapping tools offer high tensioning force and maximum flexibility when strapping packages. They are suitable for mobile use without compressed air or a power connection and are used with polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PET) strapping. Thanks to modern battery technology, they enable fast, ergonomic and consistent strapping – even with high strapping volumes.

Depending on the application, bandwidth and tension force, various powerful models from leading manufacturers are available – from compact devices for light to medium-weight packaged goods to particularly robust battery-powered strapping tools for heavy and demanding loads. Adjustable tensioning force, reliable sealing and short cycle times ensure consistent strapping results and high process reliability in logistics, industry, warehousing and shipping.

Battery-powered strapping tools – mobile solutions for maximum flexibility

Battery-powered strapping tools are used to strap individual cardboard boxes or packages, thereby protecting them from damage or theft during transit. Mobile battery-powered strapping tools are also recommended for securing palletised loads; they combine the pallet and the load into a single unit in a single operation, thus preventing the load from shifting during transport.

The battery-powered strapping tools we offer are suitable for strapping with polypropylene (PP) strapping and polyester strapping (PET strapping) and, thanks to their powerful battery, do not require a mains power supply. This makes our battery-powered strapping tools the ideal solution for businesses that carry out up to 800 strapping operations daily and are looking for a flexible, safe-to-use and reliable solution.

The right strapping tool for every application

Our battery-powered strapping tools are very simple and intuitive to use: the strapping band is looped around the package to be secured and automatically tensioned to the desired level at the touch of a button on the strapping tool. The band is then automatically sealed and cut; no additional fastening is required.

Battery-powered strapping tools offer the advantage that no additional clamps or similar components are required when using PP or PET straps. Instead, a secure bond is achieved through friction welding within the tool, which fuses the strap together.

An important criterion for selecting the appropriate strapping tool and strap is the required tensile strength of the strapping. This depends on the material and the chosen strap width and should be selected so that it can safely withstand the forces to be expected (e.g. during braking or when cornering, etc.). A strap with insufficient tensile strength may break during such manoeuvres, whilst a significantly excessive tensile strength increases the cost of load securing without offering any real added value.

Due to its material and structure, PP strapping is suitable for light parcels and pallets, as well as for bundling and securing light, non-fragile goods. To ensure adequate load securing – particularly for pallets containing multiple packages that are to be combined into a single transport unit – load securing with PP strapping should consist of several individual strands running parallel or crosswise, which can absorb and distribute dynamic forces in every direction.

PET strapping offers significantly greater strength than PP strapping and is therefore also used as an alternative to steel strapping. PET strapping is suitable for medium to heavy palletised goods; however, unlike PP strapping, it requires semi-automatic or fully automatic processing to apply the necessary pre-tension to the strap. Our battery-powered strapping tools are also suitable for processing PET strapping and allow the desired tension to be set on the tool and automatically achieved during strapping.
